Meet Josh Chou, a sophomore from Rockville, Maryland majoring in biology with an emphasis in biotechnology.

Q: What brought you to Wheaton?

A: When I was making my final decision for colleges, one of the main factors was going to a place where I could really build up and solidify my spiritual foundation. I believed that a big part of someone's identity and beliefs are shaped in college, so I felt it was imperative to go to a place where I could positively shape my personal identity. That being said, I finally decided to go to Wheaton because I felt that Wheaton was a great place to really grow spiritually with all the resources that they offer here.

Q: How are you involved here?

A: I have participated in intramural sports, and I've also been a part of Symphony Orchestra. It's been great being a part of both activities, because they helped me connect and interact with peers and allowed me to relax and take a break from all the "busyness" at school.

Q: What do you like about Wheaton?

A: Community. This is by far one of the things that has impacted my life so far in my short Wheaton career. When I first went to HoneyRock, community was a theme that was constantly highlighted and stressed throughout the Wheaton Passage. I did not appreciate the full meaning of community until I was immersed into the Wheaton family.

The friends that I have made here and the community that I have been a part of is something that I have never experienced before. The people I've met and befriended have been so supportive, and these people are the ones who have sustained me and kept me going throughout the tough times.

Q. Bonus fact about you:

A: I still drive the car that picked me up from the hospital when I was born.
